It is estimated that 30 per cent of India’s poor reside in urban slums.

Approximately 10 per cent of our urban population is homeless, while 5 per cent of all urban slums are not recognised by the government. Thus, a substantially large number of these impoverished pockets do not receive any health, education or livelihood support from the government.
