Lalita’s Story

Twenty-five-year old Lalita lives in Hazaribagh and has orthopaedic disability. She is a member of an Organisation for Persons with Disabilities (OPD) supported by Sightsavers under the Social Inclusion Programme.

Lalita has played a crucial role in strengthening the OPD at district level in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand. During the lockdown due to Covid-19 pandemic, Lalita ensured that enough essentials and relief materials were provided to persons with disabilities in her district. Her efforts to help others during Covid-19 were appreciated and applauded by many people around her.
